GoldSilver.com offers five payment methods for purchasing precious metals: Instant ACH via Plaid, Credit/Debit Card, ACH Deposit (pre-funding), Wire Transfer (pre-funding), and Mailed Check (pre-funding). Each method differs in processing time, eligibility requirements, and whether a discount applies. This article explains how each method works, its processing time, and when to use it.

Instant Purchase Options

Method 1: Instant ACH via Plaid (Recommended for Immediate Purchases)

Best for: Clients who want immediate purchasing power AND the ACH discount (see current discount rate at checkout)

How it works:

  • Link your bank account securely through Plaid integration
  • Plaid automatically verifies your account (no manual verification needed)
  • Use this connection as payment method during checkout
  • Funds are pulled directly from your bank account at time of purchase

Important: Not all banks are compatible with Plaid. If your bank isn't supported, see pre-funding options below.

Method 2: Credit/Debit Card Payment

Best for: Clients who want to purchase immediately at current market prices

How it works:

  • Add your credit or debit card to your account
  • Complete purchase at checkout using your card
  • Note: You pay full market price (no discount available)

Pre-Funding Your Account Options

Important: Pre-funding requires a verified account and additional processing time that varies by method. Learn how to upgrade from a Delivery Only account to a Verified account.

Why Pre-Fund?

Pre-funding allows you to:

  • Keep a cash balance on your account for new purchase, shipping, or storage costs
  • Have funds ready for quick purchases during market opportunities

Pre-Funding Method 1: ACH Deposit

Processing time: Typically 4 full business days after deposit date (subject to change — verify current timelines at checkout or by contacting support)

How it works:

  1. Add your bank account to your trading account
  2. Via Plaid (recommended): Instant verification — no manual steps needed.
  3. Manual verification: Submit a voided check or bank statement, then confirm two small micro-deposits to your bank account (typically posted within 1–3 business days; contact your bank if not received within that window).
  4. Initiate ACH deposit
  5. Wait for funds to clear (4 business days)
  6. Receive email notification when funds are available

Pre-Funding Method 2: Wire Transfer (Fastest)

Processing time: Typically same day to next business day (subject to change — confirm current timelines with your bank and our support team)

How it works:

  1. Contact us for wire transfer instructions or go to the FUND tab
  2. Initiate wire transfer through your bank (may incur a wire transfer fee with your bank)
  3. Funds typically available same day or next business day
  4. Receive email notification when funds are available

Pre-Funding Method 3: Mailed Check (Longest)

Processing time: Typically 7 full business days after GoldSilver.com receives your check (subject to change — contact support or check your account portal for current hold periods)

How it works:

  1. Mail your check to GoldSilver.com's designated mailing address. To find the current address, log in to your account and go to the Fund tab, or contact our support team before sending.
  2. We hold check for 7 full business days
  3. Receive email notification when funds are available
